As a former military man, I can relate to the families that miss their love ones as they serve our country. I graduated from high school, got married and deployed all in the same year.
It’s a sacrifice to leave your spouse and/or children behind but the honor to serve and protect your country can never be replaced. It takes a strong spouse to hold down the fort and maintain the love for you in their hearts. Military spouses should be honored just as much as the person gone on the tour.
Marriages/relationships are complicated enough and being apart can be taxing but they must look at the bigger picture. CODE AND COUNTRY is the sole focus and after the tour, we return home to see the love in the eyes and hearts of our families.
So let’s celebrate and salute both the servicemen and their spouses, the sacrifice is greater than what we may ever know.
Love you guys….
