TUESDAY’S TIP: STARTING POINT; LET’S BE FRIENDS

To obtain healthy relationships we should all strive to establish good FRIENDSHIPS. First impressions can make you or break you therefore getting off to a a good start is vital. Many of us begin hot and heavy, wanting to spend every waking moment with this special person, but we don’t factor in becoming FRIENDS.

Take a moment and imagine spending the rest of your life with someone you can relate to, open up to and be loved without boundaries. When a FRIENDSHIP becomes a prerequisite to a relationship, the spiritual, emotional and physical connections are raised to new levels.

I saw a billboard for a dating site that stated, “Like comes before love”. My spirit jumped because it was purpose in their advertisement. So discover the FRIENDSHIP first and allow destiny to finish its course.

HINT: Proverbs 18:24, 27:17 and Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Love you guys, see you next week….

  1. Hey D,

I am so glad you are writing again!

Just to open up a dialogue!

I use to believe this about dating and marriage until I gathered experience in both over a long period of time, and I learned to apply the Scriptures. In my dating experience, I was friends with most of my boyfriend s friends first. Many years before I was married. We knew one another, each others families, etc. But, there was one thing missing. Went I met my husband twenty years ago, we fell in love immediately by-passing the friendship. Nevertheless, throughout the years there was still something missing. When I studied the ways of God, I had a revelation in Genesis 1:28. God did mentioned friendships when he put Adam and Eve together. God was working out His Master plan when He created and put them together. He had a purpose which required Him being in the middle of these two strangers. It was God that held Adam and Eve together helping them love and work through all things, good and evil. He stayed true to the purpose He created for these two strangers with being fruitful and multiplying. My perspective is that God is missing link between relationships.

I look forward to your reply!

    1. RL,
That was an excellent example and perspective because God should always be the centerpiece of all friendships/relationships. Everyone’s path is different therefore I want to reach saved and unsaved so if we can create better friendships that lead to better relationships/marriages that honor God. Also healthy friendships can prayfully help reduce the emotional damage so break-ups can be handled better and reduce some domestic violence cases.

      Always thanks for the input….
