TUESDAY’S TIP: PRACTICING EMOTIONAL SENSITIVITY 

This week’s topic may be one of the most important that I will cover. It deals with not just our personal relationships, but every relationship. PRACTICING EMOTIONAL SENSITIVITY can turn a hostile situation into a calm, non-threatening atmosphere. The way we communicate and consider each other is vital to sustaining great interactions.

In the beginning stages of dating my wife, we had long conversations where I learned many facts about her past relationships. I learned key facts like, what made her respond and what shut her down.

There have been times where I have said things out of mere impulse reaction, and I didn’t PRACTICE EMOTIONAL SENSITIVITY and it hurt her deeply.

Whether it’s things we know or things unknown, it should be the expectation to always consider and be SENSITIVE to our loved ones feelings. There’s an old wise tale that states, “Think Before You Speak” and if we do this consistently, we can start PRACTICING EMOTIONAL SENSITIVITY.
