Now that I have your attention, let’s have some fun. You may think this has something to do with alcohol and you maybe correct on some level. Sober thinking can lead you down the path of success, but thinking intoxicated will cause you to crash. Spiritual, emotional and physical damage caused by “DRUNKEN” thoughts can leave permanent scars.
This is where having a circle of trusted accountability partners can help sober you and get you back on the right path. Real FRIENDS arise in the midst of your relationship journey. The people that you consider true FRIENDS should have the authority to speak into your life if they see that you’re about to crash from DRUNKENNESS. Those trusted FRIENDS should remind you of your key values and principles in life.
Don’t allow loneliness, money, good looks, nice personality, or even the fact that he or she attend a church be the sole factors of who you should date or possibly marry. Let that person spend quality time with your FRIENDS and family to allow their true identity to revel itself.
Ultimately you will be the decision maker, but wise counsel can help navigate the process. I truly believe that real FRIENDS DON’T LET FRIENDS DATE DRUNK. Hand over the keys, and let your circle of trust help you drive down this path called life.
