In the spirit of the holiday season, I want to put a spin on the meaning of THANKSGIVING. Normally we think about gathering around the family table, eating great food, telling stories and creating new memories. This week let’s discuss GIVING THANKS for that special person in your life. Relationships and marriages experience different seasons, but being THANKFUL should be consistent throughout the year.
Just imagine receiving a call or hearing someone say, “I’m THANKFUL for you being in my life”. Now that should warm your heart and strike up cuddling or intimacy. Many times couples get bogged down with the cares of life, i.e., children, bills, obligations or jobs and it’s easy to forget the people we share life with everyday.
For me, I make a conscious effort to express my love because being their rose is better than putting flowers on their grave. In my personal experience, being THANKFUL and displaying it, breeds an atmosphere of love, just like around the traditional THANKSGIVING dinner table. Therefore, be intentional, sincere and look into their eyes and say, “I’m not only THANKFUL but I THANK God for you being with me”.
Enjoy your family and friends this THANKSGIVING weekend and eat healthy, drink smart and share your heart.
Love you guys, see you next week….
